The city of Laguna had yesterday the inauguration of its new image. Anita Garibaldi Bridge, known as Laguna Bridge, was delivered this last Wednesday, July 15. Located in Laguna, Santa Catarina, the bridge has 2.8 km long (400-meter cable-stayed stretch and stretch current 2.4 km) and a width of approximately 25 meters.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic Dilma Rousseff, the governor of Santa Catarina, Raimundo Colombo, along with the ministers of Transport, Antonio Carlos Rodrigues, the one of Labour Manoel Dias, and local authorities. Professional of the Consortium Laguna Bridge, with Camargo Corrêa lidership, also attended,besides the town of Laguna.
The Laguna Bridge is the first cable-stayed bridge in curve in the country, subject only on a plane ESTAIS. With it will liven up the heavy traffic in the region, facilitate the stagnation of goods between the states of the South and center of the country and provide a better trade integration with the countries of Mercosul. Started in 2012, the work reached its culmination labor in two years, with about 1,800 professionals. The total area of the stonemason was approximately 96,000 sqm.
"Our team conducted the project within an excellent management, with commitment, a lot of responsibility and determination," says Luís Gustavo de Oliveira Zanin, manager of work, who won this year the Award of Standard Work, which stands between the best of the company.
The project had innovative construction techniques, such as the introduction of a shuttle lattice (EBRD), brought from Portugal, which allowed the execution of each keystone bridge, originally scheduled for one week, in just four days.
